San Francisco, California February 24, 2013 Built in 1928 by Società Italiana Carminati & Toselli of Italy. Commonly called the “Peter Witt” for the railway commissioner of Cleveland, Ohio who designed it in 1915. The No. 1856 operated in Milan, Italy before it and nine others were purchased by San Francisco Muni in 1998. It is now part of Muni’s historic streetcar fleet and runs along the Embarcadero waterfront. Nikon D800 + 24-70mm f/2.8
San Francisco, California April 2, 2013 Fog quickly approached as I was making this image. Moments after, the tower disappeared behind a thick curtain of fog. I rarely make black and white images, but this time, for this image it seemed to work for me.
